Cambodia Community Consultation in preparation of RAI3 Funding Request was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 28 January 2020 together with regional malaria CSO platform, GMS and country steering members; Partners for Development, Catholic Relief Services, and Malaria Consortium. The Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCM), National Center for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control, Cambodia, Population Services internationals, Health Poverty Action, Care international, University Research Co., LLC, The Global Fund representative, RAI RSC secretariat, Regional and Cambodia consultants for RAI3 Funding request, UNOPS PR, World Health Organization, RAI RSC CSO representative, Alternate RAI RSC CSO representative, CSO platform secretariat, Village Malaria Workers joined and discussed in the community consultation. Main objectives
- To collect suggestions from Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and community representatives for the Global Fund RAI concept note 2021-2023 based on the recommendations from previous consultations.
- To discuss representation from the CSO/Community to participate and share outcomes of CSO consultation in the RAI country dialogue.
National Program Representative Dr. Siv Sovannaroth and RAI RSC CSO representative Louis Da Gama delivered the opening remarks. Community and malaria project implementing CSO discussed the priority areas including a need for improvement in the role of village malaria worker in addition to current work and community participation in case management and surveillance to be included as a community voice in the preparation RAI3E funding request. The priority areas discussed in Community consultation will present in the Cambodia malaria dialogue on 29 January 2020.
