The secretariat, Thailand CSO representative from the regional malaria CSO platform, GMS, and UNOPS PR, joined the Vietnam Civil Society Partnership Platform on AIDS (VCSPA) annual meeting 2019, organized by the Supporting Community Development Initiatives (SCDI) in Da Nang, Vietnam, from 8-10 November. During the malaria session of the meeting, SCDI volunteers, Community Malaria Action Team (CMAT) brainstormed how to improve the malaria testing referral and adherence support to the commune health center. In addition, Dr. Tran Quang Phuc, head of planning department, National Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology (NIMPE) also explained the achievements and challenges of malaria elimination in Vietnam and consulted the operational activities to include in the malaria national strategic plan (2021-2025) during community consultation: what to do to eliminate malaria session.
The meeting was a follow-up community consultation after the meeting of RAI RSC CSO representative Louis Da Gama, Dr. Faisal Mansoor, Head of Program Unit, UNOPS and team with Vietnam CSO partners in Hanoi during 22-23 October 2019.
